ESPN Elite 11 and the Boys & Girls Clubs

Cox supports 30 youth from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Aliso Viejo and San Juan Capistrano in a special day with Elite 11 athletes at the 12th Annual ESPN Elite 11 Quarterback Competition held at SOKA University in Aliso Viejo.

 

Aliso Viejo, CA  (July 22, 2010) – Building on the success of its community-centered initiatives, Cox Orange County has teamed with ESPN to showcase the Elite Quarterback Competition.  Now in its 12th year, the Elite 11 Quarterback Competition is a four-day event that unites the nation’s premier high school quarterbacks and focuses on improving their skills both on and off the field.

 

A competition designed to give the best high school quarterbacks the tools to prepare for the next level and beyond, the Elite 11 has become the most prestigious quarterback event in the country. 

 

High profile players to participate at this event have included: Heisman Trophy winners Jason White, Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart, Troy Smith and Tim Tebow as well Drew Brees, Jay Cutler, Ben Roethlisberger, Aaron Rodgers, JaMarcus Russell, Trent Edwards, Matt Schaub, Matthew Stafford, Mark Sanchez and many more.  This year’s participants included 12 high school phenoms and six Division I college quarterbacks from around the nation.

 

Presenting a unique opportunity for Boys & Girls Club youth in Aliso Viejo and San Juan Capistrano, Cox Orange County arranged for 30 enthusiastic kids to watch the Elite 11 athletes practice at Soka University on Wednesday, July 21. 

 

After watching America’s most promising football stars showcase their talents, the Boys & Girls Club guests were treated to a mini-clinic with the athletes, followed by a special lunch compliments of Cox Orange County.
